Day 6: Rest Day in Schillighörn

Schillighörn is such a nice place! The Hostel is right behind the dyke, and it is the only building around, with lots and lots of space and lawn and soccer goals and table tennis.

We enjoy a morning at the beach which is so different to the beach at home. To start with, the water is brown and murky. At high tide, which is at midday today, we can swim, but it is shallow for several hundred metres, so that we never leave the shallows. Petra enjoys rubbing her skin in the thick mud, she sits it is good for the skin and for wellbeing.

Opa Siegfried and Great Uncle Heinz have a nap in the sands. Jonas and I get inspired by the other school kids and ask to get buried in the cool sand.

Only 4 km of cycling today.

Opa relies on gravity for a flat belly, Heinz sucks his tummy in.
Petra enjoys rubbing thick mud onto her shoulders.
Jonas is buried in the sand, I put in the yellow shovel to mark a certain point.
I am "laying an egg" of horse poo.
The grown-ups are always watching the kite surfers.
